<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape cassette discriminating device scarcely causing malfunction capable of making up the device with a small number of counters and shortening the processing time, also such that so much time is unrequired for the interruption processing when the counters, etc., are constituted of microprocessor, in the tape cassette discriminating device for discriminating the kind of the tape cassette mounted on a magnetic recorder such as a video tape recorder. SOLUTION: The time when the specified amount of FG pulse is outputted is monitored by the counter 13, and the numbers of times of the rotation of a supply reel 5 and a take-up reel 6 are measured by the counters 9, 10, then the value based on the number of times of the rotation and data of the constant preliminarily calculated in accordance with the kind of the tape cassette are compared by a comparison control part 12 to discriminate the kind of the tape cassette.</p> |
