<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the efficiency of a flow on a network by optimizing the flow rate on the network. SOLUTION: This method measures temporal fluctuation of an information flow in the Internet 10, discriminates whether the information flow is in a congestion phase or a non-congestion phase on the basis of data of the information flow, obtains a critical flow rate corresponding to a critical point between the congestion phase and the non-congestion phase, and controls the flow by suppressing the flow when the average flow rate is larger than the critical flow rate and by not suppressing the flow rate when the average flow rate is smaller than the critical flow rate. The critical flow rate is obtained from the average flow rate where a correlation time takes a maximum, a half value width of a frequency distribution of the fluctuation and a distribution of duration time of the congestion state. Optimizing the flow rate on the network in this way can enhance the efficiency of the flow.</p> |
