PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup device with good responsiveness capable of picking up an image of an object in a wide luminance range from a high luminance region to a low luminance region with high definition and by which each pixel is reset to an original state at high speed even in the low luminance area. SOLUTION: Reset is promptly performed by re-coupling positive electric charges stored in a drain, a gate of a MOS transistor T1, a gate of a MOS transistor T2 and an anode of a photodiode by setting a signalϕVPS to be provided to a source of the first MOS transistor T1 as low level and making a state that negative electric charges are easy to flow in the MOS transistor T1 after image pickup operation of each pixel is completed.
