PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To directly detect the time differentiation of acceleration, i.e., jerk. SOLUTION: If an acceleration (a) acts on a base portion 3, a cantilever body 4 is curved, and an angular velocityΩis generated at its tip part. The angular velocityΩis detected by a vibrating gyro 5. If the acceleration (a) is constant, the cantilever body 4 becomes at a standstill at a certain quantity of deflection. Since any angular velocityΩis not generated at the tip part of the cantilever body 4, on this occasion, the output of the vibrating gyro 5 becomes zero. Until the acceleration (a) changes in point of time, the cantilever body 4 does not curve, and any angular velocityΩis not generated at the tip part, and the vibrating gyro 5 does not generate an output. Namely, the vibrating gyro 5 outputs a signal according to the time differentiation of the acceleration (a), i.e., jerk.
