PURPOSE: An apparatus for washing the surface of a stainless steel wire and a method for washing the same are provided in which products are continuously produced by washing the stainless steel wire while maintaining an ordinary stainless steel wire drawing facility without coiling the wire so that high quality products are economically mass produced. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for washing the surface of a stainless steel wire is characterized in that washing solution inlet spaces(11,12) are formed at both sides of an internal can(2) at the lower part of which a residue drainage canal(5) is installed, the internal can(2) is installed inside a main body(1) in the lower part of which a plurality of heating units(3) are built, and at the end part of a residue drainage canal(4) is installed, a cooling coil(6) is installed on the inner circumference of the upper part of the main body(1), ultrasonic units(9,10) are installed inside the internal can(2) so that the ultrasonic units(9,10) are positioned at the upper and lower parts of a plurality of inflow and outflow ports(7,8), a wind pressure tube(14) connected to a plurality of nozzles(13) and a wire inflow guide tube(15) are formed at an entrance of one side of the outer part of the main body(1), a wind pressure tube(14a) connected to a plurality of nozzles(13) is integrated with a wire outflow guide tube(16) of an exit of the other side of the outer part of the main body(1), air inflow hoses(17) are connected to both sides of each of the wind pressure tubes(14,14a), and a sealing type cover(18) is covered on the upper part of the main body(1).
