PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radioisotope (RI) detecting method in which an operation to separate an accelerated phosphorescent phosphor sheet from a substrate is not required and which uses the accelerated phosphorescenct phosphor sheet. SOLUTION: This RI detecting method is provided with a process in which self-supporting accelerated phosphorescent phosphor sheets 22, 26, 28 not comprising a support are bonded closely to a substrate 10 on which a substance 16, to be detected, labeled with an RI is arranged. The RI detecting method is provided with a process in which a radiation radiated from the object 16 to be detected is exposed to the closely bonded accelerated phosphorescent phosphor sheets 22, 26, 28. The RI detecting method is provided with a process in which the amount of the radiation accumulated in the accelerated phosphorescent phosphor sheets 22, 26, 28 is read out from the surface of the accelerated phosphorescent phosphor sheet 26 on a side opposite to a side which is bonded closely to the substrate 10 while a state that the substrate 10 is bonded closely to the accelerated phosphorescent phosphor sheets 22, 26, 28 is being kept.
