The orthesis consists of a plastic shell in two pre-shaped halves (A, B) providing a good compromise between rigidity and suppleness. The dorsal half has an aperture (1) for the finger nail and a hoop (2) which goes over the finger tip, while the pad half (B) has adhesive strips for fastening it to the dorsal half. The adhesive strips can be made in one piece with the shell half or separately from it.
