PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate necessity that a user changes the setting of the direction of an on-screen display even when a display screen is changed from a lateral placement to a vertical placement or from the vertical placement to the lateral placement. SOLUTION: This device 10 is used in a picture display device which is provided with a display panel in which a rectangular screen is provided and a supporting base which freely rotatably supports the display panel so that the screen becomes vertically long or laterally long. Also, the device 10 is provided with a sensor part 12 detecting that the screen is in a vertically long state or in a laterally long state and a control part 14 displaying a menu for operation or the like on the screen in accordance with the vertically long state or the laterally long state detected by the sensor part 12. |
