PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foot-area illuminator or light weight, capable of illuminating the are around one's feet with sufficient brightness. SOLUTION: This foot-area illuminator has a light radiator 1 and a light source unit 10, a source unit 10 being equipped with an LED 11, a solar battery 18, and the like. The light radiator 1 is equipped with a tubular clad and the core, the core being made of a material of refractive index higher than the material of the clad. A plurality of strip-shaped reflection layers (4A, 4B, 4C) are formed in streaks along the longitudinal direction between the tubular clad and the core, and the light passing through the core is reflected/scattered by the reflection layers (4A, 4B, 4C) and radiated in a plurality of directions from the outer circumferential surface of the tubular clad on the opposite side to the side, where the reflection layers are formed.
