PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the accidental detachment and attachment and the infiltration of foreign matters by engagingly fixing a fixing means to be mounted within a female receptor body to the punch hole part of the prong of a male plug. SOLUTION: A fixing mechanism housing 6 of female receptor is made of a nonconductive material such as plastics or hard rubber, and comprises a sidewall part 8, a front wall part 10 and a bottom wall part 12 to form a cavity. An operation member 44 has a substantially rectangular shape, having the minimum dimension adjacent to the upper part and gradually increasing to the large width in a lower part 50. Consequently, when a male plug is inserted to a female receptor, in a state where a plunger 40 is pressed upward by a compression spring, a pair of balls 54 is pressed outward with the maximum diameter, and engagingly fixed with the hole part of the prong of the male plug. An O-ring 24 seals the cavity to prevent foreign matters, such as water from passing, even under extremely wetting condition, and a waterproof internal environment can be thus provided.
