PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent vibration, heat radiation and heat generation caused by the increase of the rotational speed of a CD reader by rotating a turntable with a main motor, connecting a rotating device to a rotary pedestal and rotating the rotary pedestal in the reverse direction. SOLUTION: A turntable 1 is interlocked by a main motor, and a CDA is mounted on the turntable 1. A traverse 4 is provided on a rotary pedestal 3, and a pickup 5 is provided thereon. The rotary pedestal 3 is interlocked by a rotary motor 6 and a belt 7, and a bearing is provided between the rotary pedestal 3 and a fixed pedestal to reduce frictional force. The turntable 1 on which the CDA is set up is rotated clockwise by the motor and the traverse 4 is simultaneously rotated counterclockwise. The relative speed between the pickup 5 and the CDA becomes the sum of both rotational speeds. That is, when the rotational speed of the main motor is 8,000 RPM and the rotational speed of the rotary motor 6 is 4,000 RPM, the relative speed becomes 12,000 RPM.
