PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a continuity on the time base of reproduction data even when track deviation occurs and to prevent repetitive track deviation due to scratches by moving an optical pickup to a sector indicated by a protection address when an actual address does not coincide with the protection address. SOLUTION: When it is judged that an actual address that is an actual reproduction address does not coincide with a protection address that is the address of a sector to be reproduced currently when viewed from reproduction time, a microprocessor 5 sets a mute control signal to an ON level for performing mute operation to a mute circuit 4 when track deviation is detected based on a new sector address from a signal demodulation circuit 3 and at the same time outputs a seek control signal for allowing a tracking control circuit 7 and a thread control circuit 8 to perform seek operation, and moves an optical pickup 2 to a sector being expressed by the protection address. Therefore, when track deviation occurs, the optical pickup 2 is moved to a sector to be reproduced currently when viewed from reproduction time.
