PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle device for an automatic toll collection system which allows a user to do the same operation with the use of an ordinary automobile. SOLUTION: An engine key 1 of an automobile is given the function of an electronic key and a communication with the on-vehicle device 3 is made to perform input. It is generally known that a driver extracts and carries the engine key 1 for security when leaving the automobile, so the possibility that the on-vehicle device 3 is illegally used while the engine key is left in is reduced.
