PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an isolation circuit that can respond to a hand-shake from both transmission reception means at a high-speed in half duplex serial transmission between terminal stations whose power supplies differ from each other and that are electrically isolated by simplifying circuit configuration so as to enhance delay characteristic. SOLUTION: An isolation circuit 1 consists of a diode 2, a resistor 3, a high- speed photocoupler 4 consisting of a photo diode 5 and a photo transistor(TR) 6, a high-speed photocoupler 7 consisting of a photo diode 8 and a photo TR 9, a resistor 10 and a diode 11. Thus, the delay characteristic of the circuit 1 is enhanced and the circuit 1 can respond to a handshake from both transmission reception means at a high-speed. Furthermore, the configuration of the circuit is simplified to realize a low cost and the reliability can be enhanced.
