PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electricity collecting base board for an electrode of alkaline secondary battery having good retaining ability for electrode mix and capable of enhancing the discharge characteristic of battery through enhancement of the rate of active material utilization, and also provide an electrode incorporating the base board and a resultant alkaline secondary battery. SOLUTION: An electricity collecting base board is formed from a metal powder sintered sheet 1 having a thickness (t) of 80 μm or less manufactured by a powder pressure rolling method, wherein the sheet 1 is furnished with a plurality of openings 2, and the peripheral edges of adjoining openings are formed as burrs 3 protruding in the opposite directions.
