PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the macroobservation of a high magnification by zooming by adopting the constitution that the best focus distance moves to a near distance side up to the mid-way of changeover operation from an ordinary observation state to a macroobservation state and the best focus distance changes gently from the mid-way of the changeover operation. SOLUTION: At the time of the changeover of an objective optical system from the ordinary observation state to the macroobservation state, the focal length of the objective optical system hardly changes and the best focus distance moves to the near distance side up to the mid-way of the changeover operation and from the mid-way of the changeover operation and afterward, zooming is executed to the side where the focal length of the objective optical system increases so that the best focus distance changes gently. A front end body 10 in which the objective optical system is built is connected to the front end of a curving part 4 of the endoscope for macroobservation. Also, a procedure implement insertion port 5 which is an inlet of a procedure implement insertion channel inserted and arranged in the insertion part 1 is projected and arranged near the connecting end of the insertion part 1 and an operation part 2.
