or the fabrication of copper tubes, from copper billets produced from molten metal from a furnace fed with refined copper ingots or copper scrap, is characterised in that it incorporates a stage of extruding the billets in a drawing press in order to produce tubes blanks in the form of rings and that this stage is effected without complementary stages of rolling and multiple drawing. The method uses a specific drawing press such that the force applied to the billets is much lower and the pressure applied is much greater than with conventional presses. Copper tubes produced by this method are also claimed together with the production unit that uses this method to produce copper tubes. |
