PURPOSE: Provided is a compound which induces an antibody binding to lipid-A and immunity to gram-negative bacteria, prevents virus infection, inhibits the growth of cancer cells, and binds to a lipid-A receptor. Also, provided is a composition containing the same. CONSTITUTION: A compound is represented by the formula(1), wherein each of R1, R1', R2, and R2' is a branched or linear, substituted or unsubstituted, C1-12 alkyl, alkene or alkyne group; and R3 is OH, OCH3, CH2COOH or a group represented by the formula.
