PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming device capable of suppressing a transfer current leak from a transfer support to the periphery while obtaining a high quality image which suppresses retransfer. SOLUTION: The transfer belt 8 of the image forming device is an endless polyimide belt having 1014Ωcm volume resistivity and 80μm thickness and comprises an upper layer 41 halving 1014Ω/sq. surface resistivity and a lower layer 42 having 1011Ω/sq. surface resistivity. The image forming device has a transfer belt charging means 21 which charges the face of the transfer belt 8 opposite to the toner image carrying face, namely the rear face, to the same polarity as that of a toner and which is located on the upper stream side of the traveling direction of the transfer belt 8 with respect to a transfer charger 6a.
