PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimally realize the automatic adjustment of a white balance by analyzing a picture which is already image picked-up by an image pickup device, and to adjust correction amounts by the information of the saturation of each picture element so that the color of a part whose saturation is high becomes unnatural. SOLUTION: An automatic white balance coefficient decision processing part 22 decides a region which is recognized white and close to preset white in all pixels in a Yuv color space from color picture data read from a picture memory 21, and calculates a coefficient for picture processing for each color face of the uv by separately multiplying the mean value of saturation in the region by a distance between a coordinate point and an origin on the uv two-dimensional coordinate plane of each pixel of picture data, the coefficient for processing of saturation whose value is set so as to be made smaller according as the value of saturation is made larger, and the coefficient for processing of luminance whose value is set so as to be made larger according as the value of luminance is made larger, and also calculates a coefficient for picture processing for luminance. A picture processing part 23 operates the color correction of the color picture data based on the coefficient for picture processing.
