PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to transmit/receive picture data to/from external equipment without using other connection members for an electronic camera fixedly including a recording medium. SOLUTION: The electronic camera is provide with a lens cover 11 formed so as to cover a photographing lens arranged in the front of a camera body and having a memory card shape forming a connection terminal part 11a, and when the lens cover 11 is inserted and connected to a memory card slot of external equipment, the transmission/reception of picture data between the external equipment and the recording medium through the terminal part 11a is controlled.
