The invention relates to a method for producing a coupling body (1) by powde r- metallurgy. Said coupling body comprises a crown (2) of coupling teeth (3) whose flanks (5) extend from wedge-shaped front faces (4) and are indented. According to the invention a formed body, comprising coupling teeth (3) whic h have wedge-shaped front faces (4) but flanks (5) which are parallel to the axis, is pressed from a sinter powder and sintered to form a shaped blank. T he coupling teeth (3) of said shaped blank are subjected to an axial compressio n- moulding between two form tools (9, 10), in order to form the flank indentations, firstly to form the wedge-shaped front faces (4) and secondly to form said flank indentations. In order to improve the production method, the invention is characterised in that a shoulder (7) is pressed into the flanks (5) of the coupling teeth (3) during the compression-moulding of the flank indentations in the transition area between the flanks (5) and the wedge- shaped front faces (4). Said shoulder (7) recedes towards the flank, lies on the joint face (11) of the form tools (9, 10) and has a curved transition (8 ) into the wedge-shaped front faces (4).
