<p>The present invention provides a circular saw (10) including a housing (12), a motor (28) within the housing (12), a circular saw blade (14) rotatably driven by the motor (28), a base (26) and a bevel angle adjustment mechanism (34, 36). The bevel angle adjustment mechanism (34, 36) pivotally interconnects the base (26) to the housing (12) such that the circular saw blade (14) is adjustable relative to the base (26) through a range of bevel angles. The bevel angle adjustment mechanism (34, 36) includes a first member (36) carrying a detent (56) and a second member (34) defining a cooperating recess (58). The detent (56) and the cooperating recess (58) positively define at least one predetermined bevel angle setting.</p> |
