The nostrils (2) are expanded by inserted open-ended molds which thus stabilise the nose wings (3), the molds in turn thickened at the sides (6) to prevent escape and additionally thickened at the bottom end to prevent the molds drawing into the nose. The two molds are connected by spring (9) to clamp the molds firmly in place as required. Filters (8) in the molds filter out impurities and papers inserted in the molds can admix aerosols to the inspired air.
