The oven (10) has a tubular over part (12) surrounding an analyte input opening (26). It also has a sample carrier (14) for holding the analyte. The sample carrier is formed essentially symmetric to a plane of symmetry running perpendicular to its longitudinal axis and is positioned, by supports, spaced from the tube wall. The sample carrier (14) is supported at points relative to the inner wall of the tube by at least two supports (20) arranged in planes running transverse to the longitudinal axis and in the middle part of the sample carrier.
