The optical system has an optical element (3) positioned in front of a rear reflector (2) enclosing a light source (1), as in DE 19822846, the reflective surface of the rear reflector and/or the surface of the optical element provided with microstructures with optical characteristics which vary in dependence on their position coordinates relative to the light distribution. The microstructures of the rear reflector may be provided by reflective diffractive microstructures and/or refractive microprisms, the microstructures of the optical element provided by diffractive microstructures or as microlens elements.
