The method involves applying at least two electrodes to the skin of the object being analysed to span at least one region having a lower electrical conductivity than the surrounding regions. The region of lower conductivity lies outside the imaging volume. The contact resistance between the electrode and the skin is as near zero as possible. A conductive liquid or gel may be applied between the electrode and the skin.
