<p>There is disclosed a method of forming a radioactive sourcewire (10) and a radioactive sourcewire (10) formed according to the preferred method. The method generally includes providing a substantially thick walled tubular member (10) and drilling or counterboring an enlarged cavity (14) in a distal end of the tubular member (10). A radioactive source (22) is inserted into the tubular member (10) and the distal end of the cavity (14) is sealed shut. During drilling of the cavity (14), material removed from the inside of the cavity (14) may be allowed to flow to the space between the bore of the tubular member (10) and the cavity (14) thereby to form a plug (18). Finally, the proximal end of the tubular member (10) may be sealed shut.</p> |
