The invention concerns a rotary electric machine comprising an axial end shield (10) generally shaped like a metal plate (12) extending in a plane perpendicular to the axis (A) of rotation of the machine rotor which bears at one of its axial ends a header extending through a central opening (14) of the end shield, and wherein the flange (10) carries various electrical elements and components, in particular two brushes (34) extending radially to co-operate with the header, and which includes at least a conductive metal circuit element embedded in an insulating plastic material part (30) extending axially at least partly through catching bores of the end shield and produced moulded around said circuit element and through the catching holes. The invention is characterised in that said moulded plastic part (30) comprises housing (36) for guiding the brushes (34).
