NETWORK CONTROL ARCHITECTURE FOR USER CONTROL OF NETWORK

Network resources are modeled and implemented as software objects. Preferably, the network topology and lists of routes between network nodes are also stored. Those objects are accessible to the connection controllers in the user domain. The connection controllers get the object references corresponding to network resources through the Controller Mapping Service and the CORBA naming service or an equivalent service. Then the connection controllers in the user domain coordinate the network resources and realize customized networks services. To reuse the resources that were not properly released by user controllers, a garbage collection mechanism runs networkwide.
