Disclosed are multicomponent fibers wherein at least one component comprises poly(1,4-cyclohexylene dimethylene terephthalate), advantageously forming at least a portion of an exposed surface of the multicomponent fiber. The fibers also include at least one additional polymeric component formed of a fiber-forming polymer.
