PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly associate two or more kinds of dots to gradation signals of an original image by arranging a head drive means for driving a head thereby forming two or more kinds of dots of different densities per unit area based on judgement results of a first and a second dot formation judge means, etc. SOLUTION: The printing apparatus first determines by a recording density determine means for a recording density to be realized by one of two or more kinds of dots of different densities per unit area. A first dot formation judge means carries out binarization or higher on the basis of the recording density, and judges whether to form dots of one higher or lower side in density per unit area. A second dot formation judge means carries out binarization or higher with dots of the other side in density per unit area and judges whether to form dots. Thereafter, a head drive means drives a head based on the two judgement results and forms dots of two or more kinds of different densities per unit area. |
