PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition which is inexpensive, has excellent low reflection performance, and does not necessarily contain a fluorine compound by irradiating a specific mixture having a specified solid content with visible light or the like. SOLUTION: This coating composition is obtained by irradiating a mixture comprising an inorganic oxide sol (for example, silicon dioxide sol), a silane coupling agent [for example, a (meth)acryl functional silane, vinyl functional silane] and a solvent (for example, tetrahydrofuran) and having a total solid content of 0.1 to 35 wt.% in the mixture with visible light and/or UV light in a solution state and/or in a dispersion state.
