PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound, a specific tetrazolylalkylindole compound, useful in the treatment or mitigation of e.g. inflammation-related diseases in mammals including pain, inflammation and arthritis. SOLUTION: This new compound is a compound of the formula [Z is a 1-4C alkyl or (substituted) tetrazolyl; A is a 1-6C alkylene; Q is phenyl, a five to six-membered monocyclic ring or the like; X is a halogen, 1-4C alkyl or the like; n is 0-4], e.g. [6-chloro-3-(1H-1,2,3,4-tetrazol-5-ylmethyl)-1H-indol-2-yl] (4-methyl-2-pyridinyl)methanone. The compound of the formula is obtained by reaction of 2-aminocinnamotetrazol with a halogen compound in the presence of a base (e.g. sodium t-butoxide) in a solvent (e.g. acetone)-pref. at 0-60 deg.C for 30 min to 8 h to form an intermediate indoline, which is then hydrolyzed.
