PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a performance for mounting an automatic transmission on a vehicle, and improve reliability by arranging a control valve unit of the transmission in a horizontal direction of a case, and connecting it to a manual valve through a switching lever disposed between a first supporting part and a second supporting part. SOLUTION: A manual shaft 2 vertical disposed on a transmission case 1 is arranged in a vertical direction which is perpendicular to an input shaft 11, its upper and lower ends are protruded from the transmission case 1 outward. the manual shaft 2 is supported to the transmission case 1 at a first supporting part 10, a second supporting part 20, and a third supporting part 30 from an upper end side. In the first supporting part 10 disposed on an upper side of the manual shaft 2, positioning is carried out by a positioning bolt 3 threadedly engaged with the transmission case 1 so as to prevent slipping-off of the manual shaft 2. Also, it is possible to prevent leakage of oil in the transmission case 1 by an oil seal.
