PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable excessive steam to be discharged when rice is put in a rice bowl so as to make delicious the just cooked rice in the rice bowl. SOLUTION: Radial grooves 1 having a substantially U shape in section are formed in an inner wall 3 of a rice bowl A whose diameter is 12.5 cm, and the length, width and depth of the grooves 1 are 5.0 cm, 1.0 mm and 0.5 mm, respectively, while the length between an opening of the bowl A and an end of the groove 1 is 1.0 cm. With the grooves 1, a lot of gaps are formed between rice 2 and the inner wall 3, and through the grooves 1 excessive steam is discharged in the air. The depth, length and the like of the grooves 1 are specified according to the size, shape and the like of a rice bowl. The sectional shape of the groove 1 may be U or V shape, but the shape of substantially U is better since the area of gap increases.
