PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a crack without impairing appearance when a V-shaped groove is formed for bending a decorative plate having a sense of high quality using a timber on its surface. SOLUTION: A surface of a sliced veneer 33 of a plate material obtained by laminating a nonwoven fabric 32 and the veneer 33 on a base material 31 is coated with a soft urethane paint. Thus, a coating film tough against bending is formed to suppress a surface crack. Here, to coat with the paint, a natural roll coater having a special sponge coating roll is used. Thus, thick coating can be performed as compared with a conventional rubber roll coater, and a paint waste can be reduced as compared with a flow coater.
