METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SENSING GAS LEAKAGE OF AIRSHIP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas leakage sensing means wherein an external surface of a gasbag of an airship can be traced over an entire peripheral surface by equipment which can be easily realized. SOLUTION: An external surface of a gasbag 1 of an airship which has been swollen to an almost balancing state between the own weight and buoyancy is traced over an entire peripheral surface by a gas leakage sensor 30 to sense gas leakage of the gasbag 1. To do so, a tip 1a and a tail end 1b of the gasbag 1 on the airship are rotatably supported on both ends of a garage frame 10, and the gasbag 1 is rotated around an axial line connecting between the tip 1a with the tail end 1b. In addition, a rail 25 along an envelope of the gasbag 1 is provided on the frame 10 to move the sensor along the rail. Thus the external surface of the gasbag 1 is traced over the entire peripheral surface by the sensor to sense gas leakage.
