COLUMN-BEAM CONNECTION STRUCTURE OF STEEL FRAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the energy absorbing capacity in the joint when a steel frame beam is connected to a steel frame column by a split tee connection. SOLUTION: A steel frame beam 1 is connected to a steel frame column 2 by making use of a connection hardware 3 having a T-shaped section constituted of a tee web 31 bolted to the flange 11 of the steel frame beam 1 and a tee frange 32 bolted to the flange 21 of the steel frame column 2. In this case, a yield stress of the tee flange 32 caused by a bending moment acting on the tee flange 32 by the tensile strength from the tee web 31 is made smaller than a yield stress of a bolt 4 caused by a tensile strength from the same tee web 31.
