PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facing panel installing structure having sufficient strength and earthquake resistance while being a simple structure and hardly causing a crack and falling-off of a panel. SOLUTION: A receiving metal fitting 3 having a connecting part 3c having a hook-shaped groove engageable from above is fixed to a reverse upper part of a panel 2, a locking metal fitting 4 being engageable with the hook-shaped groove and having a lateral width wider than a lateral width of the connecting part 3c is fixed to the lower part, both metal fittings 3, 4 are fixed to upper/ lower corresponding parts so that upper/lower panels 2 are juxtaposed on the same plane, a backing material 5 is joined to the panel reverse in the shape of overhanging from the adjacent two sides of the panels 2 to constitute a facing panel 1, and in one facing panel 1, an overhang part of the backing material 5 is inserted into the reverse side of the adjacent panels, the locking metal fitting 4 is engaged with the receiving metal fitting 3 of the just under facing panel 1, and the upper receiving metal fitting 3 is fixed to a furring strips material 10 by screw-fastening.
