PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject apparatus of a small size and water saving type and to facilitate the regulation, maintenance and inspection of a rice polishing section. SOLUTION: This apparatus comprises a rice polishing section 10 which has a rice polishing roll 20 for polishing milled rice by pressure agitation together with polishing water, a dehydrating section 38 which has a centrifugal dehydrating cylinder 43 for dehydrating the milled rice supplied from the rice polishing section 10 and a drying section 61 having a drying disk 66 for drying the milled rice supplied from the dehydrating section 38. In such a case, the respective centers of rotation of the centrifugal dehydrating cylinder 43 and the drying disk 66 are arranged on the same vertical central line and the rice polishing section 10 is arranged apart from the dehydrating section 38 and the drying section 61.
