PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce the subject fiber that is a conjugate fiber having a structure in which the fiber comprises a plurality of components of polyolefin-based resins, respective components are alternately arranged, a hollow part is present in the interior, the fiber cross section of the fiber is deformed into a flat shape in a specific deformation ratio and a part of the respective components are peeled and useful for a battery separator, a wiper, a diaper, etc. SOLUTION: This fiber is a conjugate fiber having a structure in which the fiber comprises at least two components of polyolefin-based resins (preferably a polypropylene-based resin and a polyethylene-based resin), respective components are alternately arranged in the fiber cross section, a hollow part is present in the interior of the fiber, the cross section of the fiber is deformed into a flat shape by an external stress in 0.2-0.9 deformation ratio (minor axis W/major axis L) and >=10% of contact interfaces between the respective components are preferably peeled in at least a part of the respective components constituting the fiber.
