PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet head which can obtain a desired volume of ink drops and a desired discharge speed of ink drops and can efficiently drive with a low voltage by optimizing an arrangement relationship of a diaphragm and an electrode, and a relationship of a shape of a face of the electrode at the side of the diaphragm, a displacement of the diaphragm and the driving voltage. SOLUTION: An electrode 15 has an inclined area 15a inclined from one side in a longitudinal direction to a diaphragm 10, a bottom area 15c continuous with the inclined area 15a and parallel to the diaphragm 10, and an upper area 15d formed to an upper part of an electrode substrate 2 continuously with the inclined area 15a.
