PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shelf board support device with a simple structure without using many reinforcing members, etc., to be attached to a shelf board, capable of effectively preventing the shelf board from bending at the center when a heavyweight article is put on the shelf board. SOLUTION: The front and rear edges of a steel plate constituting a shelf board 1 are folded down and turned inward to form reinforcing frame parts 10. Shelf-shaped engagement holes 12 in the front/rear direction are bored left and right ends on the lower sides of the two reinforcing frame parts 10 respectively. Shelf receiving brackets 6, which are U-shaped with the upper opening from the front view, are engaged on the inner surface of a side panel of a cabinet such as a bookshelf. The shelf board 1 is engaged with the shelf receiving brackets 6, with the outer edge 12a in the left/right direction of each engagement hole 12 abutting to a standing piece 6a of each shelf receiving bracket 6.
