PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent, in advance, an accident from occurring in case of failing inversion, by instructing inversion of running direction to invert rotating direction of an internal combustion engine, and limiting speed of the internal combustion engine or stopping the internal combustion engine when an actual running direction does not correspond to a desired running direction after the instruction of inversion. SOLUTION: When a control device 4 is applied to a snow mobile mounting a two-cycle gasoline internal combustion engine 1, the control device 4 is provided with an instruction means 5 for instructing inversion of running direction. When the instruction means 5 instructs to invert the running direction, an inversion processing means 6 carries out inversion of a rotating direction of the internal combustion engine 1. A running direction determination means 8A compares a desired running direction after the instruction of the inversion by the instruction means 5 with an actual running direction detected by a running direction detecting sensor 7. When the actual running direction does not correspond to the desired running direction, ignition timing and fuel supply amount for the internal combustion engine 1 is controlled so that speed of the internal combustion engine 1 is limited to a lower value not to engage a centrifugal clutch.
