PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting member for a rim lock facilitating the installation of the rim lock to a door and also having high holding strength of the rim lock to the door. SOLUTION: A mounting member for a surface mounting lock is equipped with a lock mounting section 2 fixing the rim lock 1, a lock mounting piece fixed on the surface of a door 3 and the end face fixed piece 5 formed by bending the end edge section of the lock mounting piece and fixed to the opening end face 3a of the door 3 to have an L-shaped cross section, and locking claw capable of being locked with a flange formed in stiles of the door 3 is provided to the end face fixed piece 5 in the case of bending.
