PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability of an ash tray by smoothly rotating the ash tray with respect to a retainer attached to a stationary chassis, prevent the ash tray apparatus from becoming heavy, and provide an easy molding. SOLUTION: This ash tray apparatus has a box-like retainer 8 having an opening 7 opening to a compartment 1, an ash tray 11 passing through the opening 7 and detachably fitted into the retainer 8, and a pivotally support piece 12 pivotally supporting a bottom portion of the ash tray 11 on the retainer 8 in such a manner that an upper portion of the ash tray 11 is reciprocative and rotatable A, B with respect to the compartment 11. The pivotally support piece 12 has bearing portions 32 integrally protruding from inner surfaces of right and left side portions of the retainer 8, respectively, and having arc-like convex surfaces 31 with a lateral axis 30 as a center, and arc-like concave surfaces 33, with the axis 30 as a center, formed on lower surfaces of the right and left side portions of the ash tray 11 and slidably born on the arc-like convex surfaces 31 around the axis 30 with the axis 30 as a center.
