PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for rewinding a veneer of a wet state or a veneer after drying to a rewinding conveying surface by preventing winding by accompanying with a roll surface in the case of rewinding the veneer of the state or the veneer after the drying on a winding reel and then rewinding the veneer from the roll. SOLUTION: At least one thread member of a plurality of rows of thread members 35 wound as a veneer winding guide at an arbitrary interval in a lengthwise direction of a roll 3 wound on a winding reel is maintained from the state along a curvature of the roll 3 to the state protruding out of the cap 3. Accordingly, the members 35 are in the state extended externally at a certain angle to an outer periphery of the cap 3. If the veneer is rewound from the roll 3 and the veneer is not rewound to the rewinding conveying surface but wound on the roll surface rotating for rewinding and again tending to be wound by accompanying, the members 35 of the externally extended state is brought into contact with the accompanying veneer surface to prevent again winding of the veneer by accompanying.
