PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilizing/deodorizing method for repeatedly used medical instruments, clothing or the like, by contacting an object to be sterilized.deodorized with liquid, gaseous or atomized stabilized chlorine dioxide, and taking out the same after the lapse of a predetermined time to utilize the stable and sure chemical reaction accelerating effect. SOLUTION: An object to be sterilized.deodorized, for example, a surgical knife, scissors.forceps, tweezers, a suturing tool or the like, is placed in a vessel 1 filled with the liquid stabilized chloride dioxide aqueous solution. Concretely, the object to be sterilized.deodorized totally made of metal, is placed in a wire netting basket made of an anticorrosive metal or the like to be soaked in the aqueous solution, then taken out therefrom after the lapse of approximately several minutes or 10 minutes, washed by the wash water, and dried. The stabilized chlorine dioxide gas vaporized by a gas generator is circulated in the vessel 1 through a gas inlet and a gas outlet through a gas circulator to execute the sterilizing.deodorizing treatment. This method is effective when the object to be sterilized.deodorized is a comparatively long medical instrument made of a composite material such as an endoscope, or the clothing or the like. |
