<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the accuracy of the thickness of the flanges of a H-shape steel manufactured by hot rolling and also to obtain the wide flange shape whose bend is small. SOLUTION: In manufacturing the H-shape steel by execute rolling with rolling equipment having a universal finishing mill 4 provided with horizontal rolls and vertical rolls and a guide 7, which is arranged on the outlet side of this mill, for guiding the outside surfaces of the flanges of a rolled material, the dimensions of the right and left flange thicknesses of the material before rolling with the mill is determined, the amount of change from the reference position of the vertical roll position by which deferrence between the right and left flange thicknesses is eliminated after rolling is calculated. When rolling is executed according to this amount of change, the amount of bending after rolling by predicting that it is generated by the difference between drafts to the right and left flange thicknesses is calculated and the amount of change from the reference position of the guide position by which this amount of bending is eliminated is calculated and rolling is executed by correcting the vertical roll position of the mill 4 and guide position based on these amounts of change.</p> |
